Prenatal Therapy during Pregnancy

A pregnant woman making a heart shape on her belly, after receiving perinatal counseling with Fertility Counselor, Keri Sipek, LMFT, PMH-C at The Therapy Place in Phoenix, Arizona, Maryland, New Hampshire, and Virginia.

Parents to be face so many uncertainties in the months leading up to the birth of their first child. If you find yourself being consumed by anxious thoughts, or feelings of overwhelm these are things that we can address and work through in Perinatal Therapy. It can be daunting becoming a first time parent with such an important job, all without a rule book to boot. Let’s work through these fears together!

I can provide assessment, therapeutic support, and teach coping skills using evidenced-based techniques to those struggling to manage symptoms of anxiety, depression, mom rage, and OCD, during pregnancy and postpartum. I often use CBT, DBT, EMDR, or mindfulness during the course of therapy. Adjusting to becoming a parent and taking care a newborn is not always easy. This does not mean that there is anything wrong with you! I have been there myself, which is why making sure that birthing people, women and their partners get appropriate treatment has become a passion project of mine. You also deserve to be well and cared for in a meaningful way!
